Construction of high rise structures has always relied on scaffolding, elevated working platforms and cranes. However certain structures rely on workers to be able to work at great heights without all that. You only have to think about all the bridges being build all over the world. In the past it was generally accepted that a certain amount of workers would fall/die during the construction. Those days are well and truly over, and rope access has now taken a firm place in building those structures where the more traditional access methods don't work. It is not only safer; it is also far more cost effective!
Industrial sheds with a lot of equipment are another problem. A lot of the time the machinery is in the way of EWP's to be able to reach the areas. We can completely safe climb into position along steel girders to get to those areas where we need to be. So no need for scaffolding, cherry pickers or EWP's. This will eliminate the need to fully clear you work place saving you the pain of production loss.
Hill and mountain slopes are also places where rope access for a long time has been the only safe way to work. These days slope stabilization is the work of skilled rope access technicians. The drilling and placement of soil anchors and consequently the installation of netting can all be done by rope access. This makes the height of the embankment not an issue anymore.
So the next time you need to install or repair something at heights think about an easier and more cost effective way to do it, call Gecko Rope Access.
